Confluence Duo are an instrumental meeting of Gill Redmond (cello) and Alasdair Paton (accordion). They join traditional music from the UK with beautiful dance tunes from France, Belgium and the Nordic countries, as well as self-penned tunes inspired by those traditions. They love to improvise around tunes and find new ways to interpret them, whether for dancers or just for listening.
April 11, 2027: Bal with Confluence Duo in Ibsley
A bal with local duo (and Eurobal Wessex organisers) Confluence Duo. They will bring their mix of balfolk and trad French dances, with beautiful music arranged for accordion and cello.
Novice and experienced dancers welcome, and you don’t need to bring a partner. There will be a beginner-friendly workshop to start the afternoon, and then we’ll be dancing to music from the band.
