October 11, 2026: Bal with Helen Gentile and Lewis Wood in Ibsley
A special bal with local folk stars Helen Gentile & Lewis Wood (from Threepenny Bit and Granny’s Attic respectively).
After a busy summer of festivals, they return to Hampshire with an evocative set of tunes from the balfolk canon on clarinet and fiddle. The duo combines the talent of two musicians who are firmly embedded into the folk music community in England. Their material comprises traditional, contemporary and original European folk dance music, with loose, ever-evolving arrangements creating space for improvisation and showcasing the interplay between the instruments.
Novice and experienced dancers welcome, and you don’t need to bring a partner. There will be a beginner-friendly workshop to start the afternoon, and then we’ll be dancing to music from the band.

Tickets: £10 adults, £5 children and students
